HOMEMADE BOUNCY BALLS

Summer is a great time to relax and have fun.  With still being extremely limited on what we can go and do, it can sometimes be hard to keep boredom from creeping in. Here is an activity that provides hours of fun.

Extra Options

  • To make your ball glow in the dark, use glow in the dark glue or acrylic paint.

  • Store your bouncy ball in a Ziploc bag when you’re not playing with it.

Supplies Needed

  • two cups

  • measuring spoons

  • 2 tablespoons warm water

  • 1/2 teaspoon borax

  • 1 tablespoon glue

  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch

  • food coloring or acrylic paint

Directions

  • In the first cup, mix together the borax with water until the borax is completely dissolved.

  • In the second cup, pour the glue, cornstarch, and food coloring and mix together. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of the borax mixture from the first cup into the second cup.

  • Let the ingredients in the first cup interact together on their own for 15 seconds, then stir them together.

  • Once the mixture becomes difficult to stir, scoop it out of the cup, and roll it into a ball.
