Peanut Butter Owl Rice Cakes

A craft and a snack? Two things we love put together in one! Snack time is an important time of the day, as it allows us to give our bodies what we need to help sustain our appetite for meal time. Kids’ stomachs are small; this makes them hungrier more often than adults. Children should eat every 2-3 hours. When providing snacks, it is important to look at the nutrients of the food rather than the quantity. Have fun creating and enjoy this tasteful treat.

Ingredients

  • Rice cakes

  • Banana

  • Peanut butter

  • Cheerios

  • Blueberries

  • Chopped carrots

  • Apple slices

Directions

  • To make an easy clean up, we are going to be building our owls on a baking sheet. Lay rice cakes out on the pan.

  • Next, spread the peanut butter over the rice cake. Place two slices of banana at the top. Dip two blueberries in peanut butter and place them over the banana slices.

  • Now, take your apple slices and place one on each side. Then take a chopped carrot piece and place it where a nose would go.

  • Finally, fill in the owl’s fur with cheerios. Now you have your completed snack and are ready to serve and enjoy.
