Healthy Smoothies

Smoothies are a great way to get that extra boost of energy throughout the day. These different combinations are delicious and your kids will enjoy them too. You can substitute them for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Smoothies are packed with nutrients and help curve your food cravings throughout the day. We challenge you to create your own smoothie. Don’t be afraid to try something new. We would love for you to send in your creations. Let’s see what you come up with.

Banana Oatmeal Smoothie Ingredients

  • 2 ripened bananas

  • 1/3 cup Greek lowfat honey yogurt

  • 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal

  • 1/3 cup almonds

  • 2 cups ice

Mango/Banana/Blueberry Smoothie Ingredients

  • 2 cups lowfat vanilla yogurt

  • 2 bananas

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • 1 cup ice

  • 1/2 cup spinach, loosely packed

Peach Pie Smoothie Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup almond milk

  • 2 peaches, chilled and sliced

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek lowfat yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1/4 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tablespoon nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup crushed ice

Directions

  • Add all the above ingredients into a blender.

  • Depending on how smooth you want your smoothie, let it mix on a medium setting and then pulse until you get the consistency you desire.

  • Pour into cups and serve immediately for best tasting results.
