The Rocks That Keep On Giving

Spring is finally here. What a perfect time to make kindness rocks!

Now, you might be wondering what a kindness rock is or how it can spark joy into the people’s lives around you. A kindness rock is simply a rock that has been decorated with the intention of spreading kindness to others. The purpose of rock painting is to add positivity in and around your community. This teaches our kids the beauty behind being intentional, and intentionally kind.

Start out by gathering rocks. These rocks can be any size or shape, and feel free to do as many as you would like. After you collect your rocks, make sure to wash them to get off all the dirt. When they’re dry, decorate them however you would like. You can choose from transforming the rock into your favorite character, to decorating it with an inspirational message, or even just a pretty color. Make them as simple or as bold as you would like. When you are happy with the message your rock gives, we recommend to paint a coat of mod podge over it to protect it.

The final step is to place the rocks along trails, on someone’s porch, along sidewalks, or in community gardens. Let’s put on our creative hats and give a gift that keeps on giving.
