Are you constantly re-reading the same books for nap time or bed time? Do your kids ever try to read you the story based on what they think or remember? Let’s grab some supplies and head on over to the kitchen table to create a new book. This is a perfect way to let the creativity flow through them… one that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
Custom Story Books
12×12 copy paper or construction paper
Crayons, markers, paint
Whatever else you need to be creative
Collect 5 pieces of paper, lay them on top of each other and fold them in half to create a book. (You can use more, this is just a suggestion.)
(Parents) Using a hole punch, create holes along the crease of the paper.
Weave the string through the holes to bind the book together. Complete by tying each end so it is secure.
Create a title page and cover picture.
Next, let your children’s imaginations run wild creating their new story. Help make their story come alive through pictures and/or words.
Read your story together and add it to your collection.
