Thanks For Making Me One Smart Cookie

Teacher appreciation week is here and as we all know, they are working harder than ever before. Our child care teachers have been going to the extra mile to keep things as normal as possible for our friends that are still attending Small World.

While dealing with COVID, home life and virtually teaching, our school teachers deserve an extra thank you and more gratitude than ever before. Not only are they teachers, they are role models to our kids and they have done a wonderful job going above and beyond making sure our kids are still able to learn during this time of uncertainty. Because of social distancing, students haven’t gotten the chance to say their goodbye to their school teachers.

Let’s put a little something together that shows the appreciation we have for all of our teachers this year in 2020. We have come up with a couple of options, whether you simply want to make a card or get artsy and put together a keepsake.

“Thanks for Making Me One Smart Cookie”

Ingredients

  • Pint Size Glass Mason Jar

  • 1 bag cookie mix

  • ribbon

Directions

  • Normally we would add all of the cookie ingredients into the jar, but in light of everything going on this year, we thought it might be better to just add a bag of mix and not chance anything.

  • Print the label and attach it to your jar with a cute ribbon.

“Thanks for Helping Me Grow” card

Supplies

  • construction paper

  • scissors

  • glue

  • markers

Directions

  • For this card, you will need three different colors of construction paper. You need a base color, green for the stem/leaves, and a color for the flower.

  • On the construction paper for the flower, trace your hand and, with the help of a parent, carefully cut it out. Using the green, cut out a stem and two leaves.

  • On the base, glue down the stem, leaves, and use the cut out of your hand as the flower. Taking a marker write on the front “Thank you for helping me grow”.

  • On the inside, feel free to get creative on how you want to express your gratitude.
