SQUIRT GUN PAINTING
Time to put down the paint brushes and head outside. Painting with squirt guns is a fun way to create abstract art, inexpensively. There are many different variations of this activity.
Creative ideas include:
- Give them a few guns full of paint and let them go crazy!
- Cut out shapes or letters and tape them to the canvas. Once the paint is dry, remove the taped shapes.
- Another fun idea is to tape off sections of the canvas with painters tape and repeat the same steps above.
- Tape off their name (or beginning letter if their name is too long) and let them paint over it. Then remove the tape to reveal a fun piece of art of their name! If you have a Cricut machine, you could cut out their name in a cute font.

Supplies Needed
Cardstock, canvas, poster board, or whatever paper you have
Squirt guns
Water
Liquid watercolors
Ziplock bags
Tarp
Directions
Lay a tarp in the designated area you are going to be painting in.
Make any additions to your canvas you would like: names, letters, shapes, random, etc.
In a small Ziplock bag mix 50/50 water and paint. Once they are mixed together, cut a small hole in the corner of the bag to easily move the paint/water mixture from the Ziplock to the squirt gun. Add the paint to the squirt guns.
Next, begin the painting process. Allow the canvas to dry before moving it. If you add tape or shapes, wait for the paint to dry completely before removing.
Have fun creating. 😊
