Infant Program

Infants are naturally inquisitive as they begin to develop their senses. Our infant room is designed to encourage sensory development with a variety of stimulating items. Here, infants will enjoy listening to soft music, playing with plush toys, and interacting with toys that light up and make sounds. We provide baskets of books, both soft and board, for exploration, pretend play toys, and musical instruments to foster their curiosity.

We strive to create continuity between home and our centers. We work closely with parents to incorporate familiar comforts and routines, ensuring a sense of trust and security for our infants.

Our Infant Program Includes:

  • Radical Routines Incorporating music, movements, and finger plays like the finger movements of “Itsy Bitsy Spider” during singing.
  • Language/Cognitive featuring activities such as singing songs, reading stories, and pointing to pictures while saying the words, encouraging infants to repeat the words with us.
  • Fine Motor Utilizing toys like textured rattles and teethers, encouraging infants to grasp them. Teachers sit on the floor with older infants, playing with blocks and promoting tactile interaction.
  • Gross Motor involving gentle bouncing on our knees to music, tummy time to strengthen back and neck muscles, encouraging crawling or scooting, and helping older infants pull themselves up to stand with toys and verbal encouragement.
  • Social/Emotional development through laminated pictures of the children on the floor and in books, allowing them to see images of themselves and their friends.
  • Sensory Exploration involving items with various textures, helping infants feel the differences while discussing them.
  • Art Options including activities like finger-painting with vanilla pudding.
  • Outdoor Learning incorporating outdoor activities like taking walks.
