Over the Moon

On May 30, 2020, NASA launched rocket SpaceX into space.

Let’s make rockets in honor of the astronauts that went into space!

Supplies Needed

  • Cardboard tubes: paper towel rolls or toilet paper rolls

  • Plastic egg

  • Markers

  • Wooden clothespins

  • Tissue paper

Directions

  • First, gather all of your materials. Take whichever tube you would like to use and decorate it with markers.

If you are wanting to be more creative, stickers are a fun way to add a little pizzazz.

  • Now that your rocket is decorated, it’s time to build your rocket and get it ready for take off!

Insert the plastic egg at the top of the rocket.

  • Using scissors, cut up tissue paper and tape it to the bottom of the rocket, giving it an illusion that it is taking off.

  • Finally, take three clothes pins and attach them to the bottom to make the rocket boosters, and enabling it to stand on its own.

  • Your rocket is ready for take off! … Or, at least look really cool anyway.  😉 Your kids can use the rocket to hold their cute toys and launch them into space!
